Members of Kiribati Parliament’s Public Accounts committee completed a two-day induction training workshop on 11 March 2021. The workshop was designed to equip the members with tools to play a more effective oversight of government’s expenditure.
Following the house elections last year, the Kiribati parliament appointed a three-member Public Accounts Committee (PAC) as per its Constitution. To better play their role of scrutinising government expenditure, Parliament requested the UN Development Programme (UNDP) to organise

A Smithy Bridge man is set to run four miles every four hours for 48 hours in memory of his younger brother.
Craig Murphy died almost 12 months ago at the age of 47. For many years, Craig had been a mentor for Alcoholics Anonymous and had helped hundreds of people on the road to recovery.
Now to help raise money for Alcohol Change UK, today (Friday 5 March) Jason Murphy will run four miles every four hours over the course of 48 hours, for a total of 48 miles.
