For how long is Australia going to buy the Prime Ministerâs increasingly tired old saw, âtechnology not taxesâ (âIndustry leaves PM behind on emissionsâ, April 24-25)?With Scott Morrison offering the presidential summit to spend $539 million on new âcleanâ energy projects, including $263 million for the thoroughly dodgy carbon capture and storage dream, I have to ask: whoâs paying?
And the answer is me, via my taxes. So taxes are certainly involved. Wasnât this a government that promised to get the budget back in the black? Wouldnât it be far more effective to tax the polluters and boost the budget rather than tax us to pay off the polluters?
Donna Preston as The Mistress in Apocalypse Wow
UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a new physical gameshow format for its ITV2 network produced by Lego Masters creator Tuesday’s Child.
Set in a secret underground club, part-BDSM dungeon, part Fight Club, Apocalypse Wow is hosted by AJ Odudu alongside Hey Tracey’s Donna Preston as The Mistress.
In each episode, five celebrities enter the ‘torture dome’ to take on The Mistress’s terrifying Superhuman ‘Bosses,’ such as Master Enormo (one of the world’s strongest men), The Horn Hunter (a back-flipping parkour master), Hot Slippy Jesus (the UK’s number one gravy wrestler), The Mermaid and more.
ITV Eyes Youth-Skewing Scripted, Factual

ITV is looking to ramp up commissions of youth-skewing scripted and factual, with plans to premiere some content on-demand first on the ITV Hub.
Paul Mortimer, ITV’s head of digital channels and acquisitions, revealed his strategy in an address at the Creative Cities Convention. Mortimer leads the commissioning strategy for ITV Hub and the younger-skewing brands ITV2, ITVBe and CITV.
“The pandemic has fast-tracked the behavior of audiences, more people want content on their own terms and at their own convenience, and younger audiences always get there first with these behaviors,” he said.

The format will air on ITV2 and ITV Hub. British TV presenter AJ Odudu (pictured) will host the series alongside actress and comedy writer Donna Preston.
Apocalypse Wow will see TV stars and comedians led through a “Torture Dome” where they’ll have to defeat opponents ranging from strongmen to Gravy wrestlers in physical challenges to win a cash prize for charity. Contestants on the show include TV personality Scarlett Moffatt,
Love Island star Chris Hughes, TV presenter Karim Zeroual and more.
