A Unity man accused of refusing to wear a mask while shopping at a grocery store and threatening to fight the manager before fleeing was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, state police said. William A. Muir, 41, also received four traffic citations from troopers as he fled the Giant Eagle parking lot of Laurel Mountain Plaza in a 2002 Dodge pickup truck about 4 p.m. Friday, according to state Trooper Michael Burkholder. Muir was cited for driving without a license, driving on a suspended license and two counts of driving a vehicle not properly inspected.

Murrysville police said a 26-year-old man was arrested early Sunday on charges of harassment, simple assault and strangulation following an alleged incident inside a woman’s apartment. Zachary Musto of Rochester, Beaver County, was arrested following the reported attack around 12:10 a.m. that occurred in the 1100 block of Ohio Street. Officer Jason Varner said, when police arrived for report of a domestic disturbance call, they found the apartment door was forcibly opened and the glass shattered. According to court records, the woman told police that, after forcing his way into her apartment, Musto threw her to the floor and began choking her.

West Newton man charged with arson, insurance fraud after reporting car theft

Pleasant now is charged with arson, insurance fraud and making false reports, according to court records. Donald E. Cassidy, 54, reported about 8 a.m. Feb. 15 that his vehicle was stolen from Rumbaugh Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, according to court documents. Five days later, state police Trooper Troy Faulk said Cassidy’s burned out car was located about three miles away in the woods off White Bridge Road in Mt. Pleasant Township. Troopers said the fire was intentionally set.
