Strictly Come Dancing star Debbie McGee tied the knot with her husband Paul Daniels in 1988. The 62-year-old worked as her other half s assistant while on The Paul Daniels Magic Show, which ran on the BBC from 1979 to 1994.

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Debbie McGee, 62, has prompted a cheeky remark from Jonathan Ross, 60, following her appearance on BBC News last night. The former magician’s assistant, who worked alongside her late husband Paul Daniels, caught the attention of the comedian due to her surprising home decor choice during her Zoom call with the programme.

The most important news of the week is that magicians are today celebrating the 100th anniversary of a woman being sawn in half on stage. We could all probably do with a bit of magic in our lives at the moment, so let s wave the wand with a quick abracadabra and take a magical mystery tour.
The gentleman initially responsible for this still captivating illusion was Englishman Percy Thomas Tibbles. Under his stage name PT Selbit, on Jan 17, 1921 he appeared to saw his assistant, Betty Barker, in half in a wooden box at the Finsbury Park Empire in London.
