Jesse Winker homered and drove in four runs while Luis Castillo allowed just one unearned run over seven innings as the Cincinnati Reds held off the visiting St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 Saturday night.
The Reds committed three errors but got a pair of sensational plays from center fielder Shogo Akiyama and third baseman Eugenio Suarez to capture their sixth straight game against the Cardinals, their longest such streak since 2003.
Castillo (4-10) got the win after four consecutive no-decisions. He allowed four hits while striking out nine and walking three. Heath Hembree pitched the ninth for his eighth save and second in as many games.

Joey Votto also homered to help the Reds overcome three errors and extend their winning streak against St. Louis to six games, their longest since taking six straight in May 2003. Cincinnati swept the Cardinals in a four-game series in St. Louis June 3-6.

Kyle Farmer homered and scored the go-ahead run on a Tyler Stephenson sacrifice fly as the Cincinnati Reds rallied to beat the visiting St. Louis Cardinals, 6-5, on Friday night.
The Cardinals grabbed a 5-3 lead, thanks to a three-run sixth, before the Reds came back with two in the seventh and an unearned run in the eighth to make a winner of Brad Brach (1-1), who pitched the eighth.
Heath Hembree closed the game out by pitching a scoreless ninth for his seventh save.
Farmer and Joey Votto had three hits for the Reds, who won for just the second time in seven tries in their nine-game homestand coming out of the All-Star break. The Cardinals fell for just the third time in eight games.
