If you would like to attend a Buffalo Bills or Buffalo Sabres game later this year you may have to be vaccinated for COVID-19 first. During Erie County s weekly COVID-19 briefing, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz discussed a plan to allow full attendance at both Bills and Sabres games. Poloncarz says the county supports returning all fans to Highmark Stadium and the KeyBank Center this fall; however, under the county s plan, all fans and staff would be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Hearings were held Tuesday in lawsuits filed by parents against the Williamsville and Orchard Park school districts. Those parents include Orchard Park gym owner Robby Dinero who won his business reopening case against the state in December.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concluded on Monday that Judge Susan Brnovich made no clear error in rejecting the recusal request made by Backpage founders Michael Lacey, James Larkin and other former site managers, who argued that letting her remain on the case, scheduled to go to trial Aug. 23, could lead people to question the court’s impartiality.

Judge moves toward 3-foot social distancing in school reopening lawsuit

Mike Desmond / WBFO News Local parents who went to court Tuesday to force their school districts to return to in-class learning five days a week have been put on hold. State Supreme Court Judge Emilio Colaiacovo has denied the request for immediate action to compel the districts to fully reopen, but will be revisiting the case in the coming days. Colaiacovo asked state officials to explain why New York schools are still requesting six-foot social-distancing measures among students while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month modified the practice to three feet. The judge also wanted two of the four districts involved in the suit Orchard Park and Williamsville to present their full reopening plans to him next week.
