A SPRING Market offering a wide range of freshly prepared street foods, artisan grocery products as well as arts and crafts will be taking place later this month. The market, which will be on Thame High Street from May 21 to May 23, is the first of two markets that will be held by Zoom Events in the town. Paul Kennedy, director of Zoom Events, said: We are excited to be returning to Thame where we have held successful markets for a number of years prior to the pandemic. Our Spring Market will feature Covid safety measures to help keep customers and traders safe.

It’s been a while since West County’s Jim “Skip” Smith left the ‘Falls to be a freelance television cameraman. He wound up in Tampa, got married, raised a family and toted handhelds around Amalie Arena covering Tampa Bay Lightning games. He’s covered the Rays, the world water skiing championships in South America, Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in Orlando and everything in between.
He was going strong until a year ago when he tripped and fell. Two weeks later he was out on the links, swung a club and doubled over in pain, unrelenting pain. “It got to the point where I needed a walker to get around and was sleeping in a recliner,” said Smith.

A broken bone after a minor fall is often the first sign of underlying osteoporosis. It s also a warning sign that a fracture patient is at high risk of sustaining further, potentially life-threatening fragility fractures, a risk which is especially high within the following two years.
This is where a fracture liaison service (FLS) can make an essential difference to a patient s future. FLS are coordinated, multidisciplinary services which serve to systematically identify, evaluate, treat and monitor fracture patients in order to significantly reduce their risk of suffering serious secondary fractures.
Former Transnet exec s earnings do not add up, tribunal hears 06 May 2021 - 16:39 Image: 123RF/LE MOAL OLIVIER
A Special Investigating Unit (SIU) senior forensic accountant said money deposited into the bank accounts of former Transnet Capital Projects executive Herbert Msagala were more than what he was said to have earned from his employment and other businesses.
Ismail Varachia told the Special Tribunal on Thursday that between 2009 and 2016, significant amounts of money went into and out of Msagala s bank accounts.
He said some of the amounts paid to Msagala could not be accounted for.
The SIU alleges that some of the cash in Msagala s bank accounts were the benefits of unlawful activities.
