Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with two states and Washington, D.C., setting a goal of reducing vehicle emissions by at least 26% by 2032.
The cap-and-trade program adds an estimated 5 to 9 cents per gallon of gas for Massachusetts motorists. Baker projects the Transportation Climate Initiative Program could generate more than $1.8 billion in revenue for Massachusetts.
