Comedians swap the stage for a shearing board

And the local community seem to be just as rapt. All 220 tickets for this year s show sold out in just six days. It all started 13 years ago, when Macdonald’s mates Scott and Bridget Blanks visited from Auckland where they run The Classic: Comedy Club. The Macdonald’s do a fair amount of entertaining in the shed, and Scott thought the venue would be fantastic for a gig, with the shearing board doubling as a stage. So a few months later, the family hosted the first Comedy in the Woolshed event to raise funds for a school. Macdonald said her husband John has happily gone along with the idea on condition that any money raised goes towards the Te Anau basin.
