An angry and pissed off Perth man who fatally stabbed a sleeping squatter after sending a text message saying he was carrying out his own bit of justice has been found guilty of murder.

It was the second time David Morris Best, 58, had stood trial over the death of 23-year-old Roy Erwin who was stabbed once in the chest as he slept on a mattress in the shed of a vacant property in Mandurah, south of Perth, in February 2019.

The mother of a woman who was allegedly stabbed to death by a schizophrenic home intruder as she begged for help on the phone has revealed her pain.
Cara Hales was at home alone in her bedroom when her accused killer Jesse de Beaux, 23, allegedly broke into her house in Munster in Perth s south on December 28, 2018.
Her mother Jenny Campbell said the family s hearts are broken .
Ms Campbell has spent three days at the trial of de Beaux, who has pleaded not guilty on insanity grounds after being diagnosed with chronic paranoid schizophrenia.
