Quilter chief executive Paul Feeney is to chair one of the FCA’s advisory groups, the regulator has announced.
Feeney will chair the watchdog’s practioner panel – one of the handful of statutory groups set up to oversee the work of the FCA – from 1 January 2021.
After receiving approval from the Treasury and FCA board, Feeney will replace Zurich’s Tulsi Naidu, who moved from her UK chief role with the insurer to overseeing the Asia Pacific region in September.
The panels have frequently been criticised for not having enough input from members of the advice profession to help guide policy. It’s panel to look at the FAMR, for example, only had on practicing adviser. Another of its panels, focussed on consumer issues, has suggested major reforms on issues like cost disclosure for financial planners.
