Storm Tracker Forecast: Monsoonal moisture brings clouds and T-Storms

Monsoonal moisture from the Desert Southwest will trigger instability and likely cause afternoon thunderstorms beginning Monday afternoon. With the atmosphere as dry as it is, that could cause some dry lightning strikes that could be problematic for firefighting efforts. We will however, see more moisture reach the region by Tuesday morning, and that will not only raise our humidity levels, but will also bring with it some scattered showers. There s even the potential for brief heavy downpours in areas where T-storms do develop. These are the same monsoonal storms that dumped several inches of rain in parts of Arizona.
