Cadence virtual production in a way artistic director Daniel Charon didn t quite plan for. This show wasn t conceived with a thematic through line, but one emerged through the process, Charon says. [Choreographer Charles O. Anderson] spoke so much about howleveraging individuality can serve a collective solidarity––how what makes us all the same is our striving to be individuals. I think that there are moments of this that emerge in all of the dances on the program intheir own unique ways.

During his lifetime, M. Walker Wallace a Utah businessman and real estate investor with a well-known family pedigree helped lay the foundation for Utah’s sports, culture and tourist industries.

Walker Wallace whose U.S. Ski team career was cut short by a broken leg also helped establish Snowbird and Park City ski resorts. He was part of the committee that created Salt Lake City’s Downtown Alliance. He donated time and money to dozens of community organizations from the Utah Symphony and Ballet West to the Nature Conservancy, Planned Parenthood of Utah and the University of Utah Eccles School of Business.

Ballet West has promoted its first non-Asian dancers of color to the company’s top rung of performers.
Katlyn Addison and Hadriel Diniz, both first soloists with the Salt Lake City-based troupe, will become principal artists for the 2021-2022 season, starting in the fall, the company announced Thursday.

A man has been charged in connection with sexual offences at a former ballet School in Argyll.
The 38-year-old man was charged after an investigation into alleged abuse at Ballet West in Taynuilt.
He is expected to appear at Oban Sheriff Court at a later date.
An ITV investigation into the school last year found more than 60 women had made allegations of inappropriate behaviour against a teacher.
Ballet West closed in August 2020, saying it had been “driven to the point of insolvency” due to the investigation.
