Daily Covid deaths fall below average numbers from road accidents
Just four fatalities recorded on Monday, as MPs urge Boris Johnson to speed up unlocking plans and accuse him of following dates not data
Daily deaths from Covid have fallen below the average numbers from road accidents, latest official figures show.
Just four deaths from Covid-19 were recorded across the UK on Monday, compared with an average of five fatalities a day on the roads.
MPs are now urging the Government to go faster in releasing Britain from lockdown – accusing ministers of following “dates not data”.
It came as figures showed that three quarters of those aged 75 and over have now been fully vaccinated against Covid. In total, 10 million people across the UK have now had both doses, an achievement which Boris Johnson hailed as “remarkable”.
