Water system upgrade work may disrupt some Kildare water supplies tomorrow Temporary road closures planned in Naas and Kilcullen area from January 18 to progress water project Reporter: );   Essential water repair work on part of the Barrow Extension project will start tomorrow, Thursday, and may mean water disruptions in some areas,  Irish Water has said. Further work from January 18- March 26 will mean road closures in the Naas and Kilcullen area. Irish Water said working in partnership with Kildare County Council, is progressing with essential works to safeguard the drinking water supply for homes and businesses in Kildare and the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) in accordance with the current Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions.

Council gives green light to convert farm stable into holiday homes Reporter:   ); Planning permission has been granted by Kildare Co Council to convert farm buildings into holiday homes.  Approval was sought to change the use of a farm stable and coach house into five holiday dwelling units at Bishopsland House in  Ballymore Eustace. The holiday homes proposed would comprise of three two-bedroom units and two three-bedroom units. The planning application stated that a new internal road and wastewater treatment system will be built. The estimated construction cost of the project is around €350,000, according to construction information database, Construction Information Services.

More than €90 million will be invested into the Saggart and Ballycoolen watermain projects. The announcement was made by the Minister for Housing Darragh O Brien TD this afternoon. and with the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. The projects include the construction of a treated water reservoir as well as new pipelines and storage. Commenting Minister O’Brien said, “Both of these Irish Water projects will improve the security and resilience of treated water supply to the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). Irish Water will now be able to proceed with works for both projects early in 2021 with construction expected to take over two years to complete. Knife produced during robbery at shop in Ballymore Eustace Incident   ); Naas gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to the robbery of the  Day Today Shop, Chapel Street, Ballymore Eustace on  December 19.  A lone male entered the premises at about 5.25pm wearing a wine hoody top and black tracksuit bottoms. The male’s face was covered. A knife was produced during the course of the robbery and the male left with a sum of money.
