WILL COUNTY, IL 31 percent of Will County s total population has been fully vaccinated, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. That represents 214,610 county residents.
502,688 total doses were administered in the county by Thursday, which has a population of 692,310, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. The state also shares data on its vaccine inventory, and the reported inventory for Will County is 44,269 with 36,393 of the reported inventory at the local health department, and 7,876 at community partner sites.
The update comes days after Illinois officials announced that the state is on track to enter Phase 5 of its reopening plan - which would mark a full reopening - in July.
Illinois is currently in Phase 4 of its reopening plan and must first enter what s known as the Bridge Phase, a transitional period before the final Phase 5, which would see all sectors of the economy fully reopened and no capacity limits.
Pritzker said Monday that the state could move to the Bridge Phase potentially as early as next week.
“If you look at all the hospital admissions data, it looks like we’re in decent shape and moving toward the Bridge Phase,” he said. “I believe that it may be next week.”

Even as Illinois potentially moves to completely reopen the state in coming months, Gov. J.B. Pritzker says that the state will continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on mask-wearing, saying that it is the best way to protect those not yet vaccinated against coronavirus.
On Thursday, Pritzker announced that the state plans to move into a new “Bridge Phase” of COVID reopening on May 14, and that it could potentially move to Phase Five on June 11, which would amount to a full reopening of the state.
If These COVID Metrics Go Up, Illinois Could Reverse Some Reopening Plans Illinois has been in Phase 4, without added mitigations, for much of 2021, but the Bridge Phase will loosen restrictions further and increase capacity limits before the final Phase 5

Illinois is currently on track to enter its final stages of reopening in the coming weeks, but the state s governor said there s an important caveat for residents. This good news comes with a caveat, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Thursday. We have all seen throughout this pandemic that this virus and its variants have proven to be unpredictable. Metrics that look strong today are far from a guarantee of how things will look a week, two weeks, a month from now. We saw that last August and again in March.
