Not with the pandemic. We re all excited for the start of a New Year, especially this year, said Amanda Gripes who works out just about every day. For many, 2020 ranked as the worst year in modern history, given the loss of lives and impact on families and businesses and so many other things.

Businessman and volunteer Dave Thomason, owner and founder of River’s Edge Entertainment, once again helped those in need this holiday season with a little help from his friends John Fuller, Paula Rhoades and 8-year-old Jamie. The group made the rounds Christmas week, going to a home in Wood River where they delivered presents to five children who otherwise might not of had gifts. Midweek the group started at 9:30 a.m. making its first stop in Roxana, then South Roxana, Wood River, East Alton, Rosewood Heights and then Alton. They reached out to about 25 families giving away packages to 120 kids and 50 adults.
