Weekly Fishing Report: July 4, 2021 Los Alamos Daily Post The recent period of cool temperatures and rainy weather has been beneficial for anglers, keeping the streamflows in New Mexico higher and keeping water temperatures cooler. Campers benefitted as well. Stage 1 Fire Restrictions were lifted on Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forest land, allowing campers to enjoy campfires again. Fire restrictions could be put back into place if the weather turns hot and dry. For now, enjoy the comfort of a campfire. Fire restrictions at New Mexico State Parks vary from park-to-park. Reservations at New Mexico State Parks may be made by calling 877-667-7787 for reservations. Some remote campsites may be open on a first come, first served basis. It is beneficial to check the state parks website for conditions at individual state parks if you are planning a trip to one of them. The website is: www.emnrd.state.nm.us/SPD/FindaPark.html.

Lake test results June 30, 2021: Lance Park and Lake Shangri-la-214th Ave under swim caution – West of the I

Jun 30th, 2021 Lance Park on Lake Mary in Twin Lakes and Lake Shangri-la at 214th Avenue are under swim cautions after testing on Tuesday by Kenosha County Public Health showed elevated E.coli levels there. The State Department of Health recommends posting warnings at beaches when test results indicate a E.coli level of 235/100mL or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100mL. The Tuesday test results that resulted in the cautions were: Lance Park – 326 E.coli/100 mL. Lake Shangri La 214 Those sites were scheduled to be re-sampled Wednesday. Other testing results from this week as reported by the Kenosha County Division of Health (except where noted) are:
