Jamie s book makes My Town your town

A local author s love of her hometown was the simple inspiration for her first children s book. Jamie Staudt s delightful book My Town is aimed at youngsters aged 3 to 6, but it will be enjoyed by people of all ages as they recognise familiar sights and places described in the poem. And it is a family project too, as the beautiful illustrations of local landmarks are the work of her talented brother-in-law Will Guppy. The reason I chose this subject is because I love Drogheda, I love living here and think there is so much to appreciate that can easily be forgotten about when living day to day, the little things, says Jamie, whose parents Larry and Dawn Staudt are also talented writers. This was written to showcase that there is a lot that is good here, and it really is the simple things that are the easiest to take pleasure from.
