CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas 500 Coastal Bend residents rolled up their sleeves and received their COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
It was the first appointment only mini clinic hosted by the American Bank Center. Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez said there was a glitch with the registration process yesterday. Even though there were 500 spots open, roughly 2,000 more people were overbooked.
But there was some good news despite the glitch. Rodriguez said the people who were overbooked on Monday, are now a priority for the very next clinic hosted by the Health District. Those who were part of the overbooked crowed will get a reverse alert invitation.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales and other local leaders have worked tirelessly for 10 months to protect the public from COVID-19.
âThere is no such thing as a COVID budget, Canales said. There is only our opportunity to do everything we can to save lives.
While not technically a budget, there is an allotment of federal funding through the Coronavirus Relief Fund that reimburses Nueces County for the expenses it encounters in the fight against COVID-19.
Financial figures KRIS 6 Investigates was able to obtain from the county put that allocation at $4,645,665.

The tabling of that discussion came after one Petronila resident had again come forward with frustration upon hearing that commissioners might withdraw their application for a $550,000 grant from the Texas Water Development Board after Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales introduced a proposal that would include Nueces, Jim Wells, and Kleberg counties.
