Trades people in Suffolk are being urged to security mark their tools after a number of thefts Posted on Police are urging people to security mark their tools after a number of thefts connected to tree surgeon equipment. An insecure barn on Rectory Road at Kettleburgh in Woodbridge was entered between midday on 10 January to 11 am, 11 January 2021, where a chainsaw, pickaxe, garden tools and power tools were stolen (crime number 37/1659/21). A residential garage door at a property on Mildenhall Road in Barton Mills was forced between 5 pm, 2 January and 1 pm, 3 rd  January 2021 and a chain saw and strimmer were stolen (crime number 37/389/21).

Picture: CAMBRIDGESHIRE & PETERBOROUGH CCG - Credit: Archant Some parts of Fenland and East Cambridgeshire saw big rises in coronavirus cases in the week up to Christmas – one or two areas showing over 300 per cent increases in a week.  New government data broken down by local area shows case numbers fluctuating dramatically in parts of Fenland and East Cambridgeshire as cases nationally continue to surge.   The figures are relatively small, but areas that have seen the biggest percentage increase include Ely North (up 325 per cent). 

Coronavirus cases by neighbourhood in Suffolk and north Essex

That was up 15 cases on the previous week, and puts its rolling seven-day infection rate at 237.7 per 100,000 people. Meanwhile, across the Essex border, central Colchester had the highest number of cases in that period with 39 - giving it an infection rate of 327.3 cases per 100,000 people. The area had an increase of 20 cases in a week. To put that into context, Maghull South West in Liverpool - a neighbourhood currently under tier 3 lockdown - had 59 new cases and an infection rate of 882.4 in the same time frame. It is not known which is Suffolk’s least-infected community, as several areas did not have any data released.
