Holly Cole was Born in Halifax in 1963. Her unique style, and ability to interpret a variety of song types have made her a standout and respected artist in Jazz circles. She founded the Holly Cole Trio with bassist David Piltch and pianist Aaron Davis in 1986. They were offered a recording contract a few years later, and released a jazz/Christmas EP, followed by their first full album; “Girl Talk”.
Holly has never shied away from performing and recording songs by an eclectic array of artists. From Cole Porter and Irving Berlin to Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and even the Sherman Brothers (Of Disney fame). She continues to perform, though in these days it’s virtual live performances, and has just released a new album: “Holly Cole – Montreal” Recorded Live at The Lion D’or. We feature this new album all week long.
