ATHENS Josh Brooks has been named J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics at the University of Georgia. Brooks will become UGA’s 12th athletic director, following the retirement of Greg McGarity, who held the position for 10 years.
“From visionary and strategist to contract negotiator, fundraiser, and champion for student-athletes the modern-day athletic director must effectively wear many hats,” said UGA President Jere W. Morehead. “I am confident that Josh can wear all of these hats extraordinarily well, and I am excited to see our athletic program continue to evolve as one of the premier programs in the nation with him at the helm.”

Georgia to face Cincinnati in Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, it was officially announced on Sunday.
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will be played on Friday, January 1, 2021, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. ESPN will televise the game at 12:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
“The challenges of this season have been many for every team and I’m certainly excited for our team and especially our seniors to have the opportunity to play in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl which is annually one of the premier New Year’s Six games during the holiday season,” said UGA head coach Kirby Smart. “This is close to home and a venue we are very familiar with; however, none of our players and only a couple of our coaches have had the opportunity to participate in this game. ATHENS Georgia is headed to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
The Bulldogs were selected by the College Football Playoff committee to play American Athletic Conference champion Cincinnati. The game is part of the New Year s 6 games and will be played on New Year s Day.
Kickoff for the game between the ninth-ranked Bulldogs (7-2) and the eighth-ranked Bearcats (9-0) is scheduled for 12 noon ET and be televised on ESPN. This will be the third all-time meeting between the programs. The Bulldogs won both previous contests: 35-13 in Cincinnati in 1942 and 31-17 in Athens in 1976.
