When rockstar and poet Patti Smith first moved to New York in the late 1960s she worked as a waitress. She also boosted her income by discovering rare books, many of which were on-sold to help establish her artistic career.
At about the same time, Kay Craddock, owner of Kay Craddock-Antiquarian Bookseller, established a family bookstore in Melbourne’s suburban Essendon (now at 156 Collins Street).
The Schoeffer bible, circa 1472, was sold to the Baillieu Library at the University of Melbourne for $200,000.

Almost 12 months since it was forced to shut its doors due to COVID-19, one of Sydneyâs most beloved live music venues is reopening with a surprise new facelift.
The Enmore Theatre will welcome back gig-goers on Monday, February 22, with a line-up featuring Ian Moss, Tim Freedman, Choirboys, Alex the Astronaut and Red Riders among others, with all ticket proceeds donated to the local music charity Support Act.

It will mark the first gig at the Enmore since British rockers The Darkness took the stage on March 13 last year, just three days before the pandemic forced all live venues closed.
