Vitaliâs star was on the rise in the early 1970s when he was cast in a supporting role in the directorâs Barry Lyndon. Kubrick suggested that Vitali work behind the scenes on another film to gain an understanding on the process; Vitali took a part in a television movie to get that chance, and after completing that work, came back into Kubrickâs orbit and never left.
