The young man who was arrested in downtown Barrie on Thursday during a violent altercation with police is speaking out about what happened.
“I m not proud of how I handled myself, Skyler Kent, 20, told
BarrieToday on Friday. I definitely wasn t in the wrong, but I could ve been calmer. I m alright now with everyone s support and being home, he added.
The police chief in Barrie, Ont., has asked an outside police service to investigate the arrest of a 20-year-old man in the city s downtown that was caught on video and quickly circulated on social media on Thursday.

Wanted man may be in North Bay or West Nipissing region
Barrie Police are trying to locate a 54-year-old man in connection to an ongoing criminal investigation.
