Date Time TU/e set to host national FameLab final in 2021 FameLab, the science communication competition where young researchers pitch a scientific topic of their choice in three minutes or less, is coming back to TU/e in 2021, and in a big way! First, the online FameLab TU/e heat will take place on Thursday April 29 th and there’s an open call for young TU/e researchers to take part. Added to that, TU/e will also be hosting the national FameLab final on Tuesday June 1st, as part of its 65th anniversary celebrations. Clear and engaging science communication is invaluable when it comes to communicating complex, yet significant scientific findings. It’s imperative that young researchers develop and refine their communication skills to maximize the societal impact of their findings.

Offaly man sent forward for trial for alleged sexual assaults Reporter:   ); An Offaly man has been sent forward for trial to Portlaoise Circuit Court on February 9. John Meade (66) of 58 St. Mary s Terrace, Portarlington is facing a total of 28 charges of sexual assault between the years 1995 and 2003. Mr Meade was remanded on continuing bail. Conditions of that bail include no contact with the alleged injured party or any witnesses and to make contact each week with the Gardai. Defence solicitor Barry Fitzgerald told the court that the alleged injured party had waived her anonymity and reporting restrictions could be lifted.
