Synopsis
Serum Institute (Covishield), Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) and Dr Reddy’s (Sputnik V) are only the manufactures licensed to make vaccines in India. Andhra Pradesh is in talks with all of them, while Karnataka has placed orders with Serum Institute. Kerala is talking to both Serum and Bharat Bio.

Sections of private hospital chains had nursed thin hopes of kicking off the next phase of the campaign at least symbolically on the May Day, but have given up hopes of pulling it off even during May.
Current prices are only indicative of how much governments and hospitals will pay to procure doses from the manufacturers, people getting vaccinated will end up paying more to cover any charges the hospital or the government might choose to levy.

India has allowed vaccine makers like Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech to fix vaccine rates at liberalised rates while opening up vaccination for all above the age of 18. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi s meeting with top health department officials, the government decided that its Phase-3 vaccination strategy will focus around liberalised vaccine pricing and scaling up of vaccine coverage .
Synopsis It will be about two months or two to three months that Bharat Biotech would really ramp up its capacity in a big way. Serum Institute also would be able to do that. So I think in the next eight to 12 weeks we should see extra supplies from domestic producers coming through.
