Srinagar, May 11 Kashmir today reported a spike in COVID-19 deaths as 24 succumbed to the infection while 2644 tested positive taking the Jammu and Kashmir death toll to 2847 while active cases have crossed the 50000 mark.
Those who died today include four at SKIMS Soura, five at SMHS Srinagar, one at GMC Baramulla, two at DH Ganderbal, two at DH Pulwama, seven at GMC Anantnag and one at DH Bandipora.
Those who tested positive include 846 from Srinagar, 361 Baramulla, 322 Budgam, 282 Pulwama, 171 Kupwara, 198 Anantnag, 85 Bandipora, 52 Ganderbal, 269 Kulgam and 58 from Shopian.

Srinagar, May 10: For the first time in the last two weeks, Kashmir witnessed a slight dip in the COVID-19 positive cases as 2118 tested positive for the virus while 19 infected people died here taking Jammu and Kashmir tally of death toll to 3614.
Authorities today suspended the train services from tomorrow (May 11) till May 16 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases in Valley.
Chief Area Manager Railways, Saqib Yousuf said that train services will be suspended from tomorrow (May 11) till May 16 evening. He said as of now they have directions to suspend the train services for one week, which can be extended further as per the situation.

SRINAGAR, May 8: Kashmir today reported 3259 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 19 people who were suffering from the infection died here taking the Jammu and Kashmir death toll to 2672.
Those who died today include a Central Reserve Police Force man Abhimaniya Sahu of 96 BN CRPF posted at Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district who was suffering from COVID-19 and was admitted at SKIMS.
Among others the victims include a 75-year-old man from Rambagh Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Bugroo Khansahab Budgam, a 76-year-old man from Goujribal Srinagar, a 58-year-old man from Batwara, at present Panthachowk, a 67-year-old woman from Batamaloo Srinagar, a 50-year old man from Banihal, an 80-year-old woman from Anantnag and a 68-year-old man from Nowpora Anantnag.

Srinagar, May 7: For the second consecutive year, no congregational prayers were held at major shrines and Masjids across Kashmir including historic Jamia Masjid on the occasion of Jumat-ul- Vida, the last Friday of fasting month of Ramadhan even as positive cases and deaths due to COVID-19 continued to surge across the Valley.
In Kashmir 3,575 tested positive for the COVID-19 today while 21 died here taking the cases in J&K to 206,954 and death toll to 2612.
The shrines and major Masjids across the Valley remained closed in wake of the lockdown imposed by the Government in order to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. This is for the second year that no Jumat-ul- Vida prayers were held in Kashmir due to COVID-19.

Srinagar, May 6 : Kashmir today reported 3,242 fresh cases of COVID-19 while 18 people died taking the Jammu and Kashmir infection tally to 201,511 and death toll to 2,562. The fresh cases have taken the number of active cases in J&K to 41666.
Those who died in Kashmir today include a 30-year-old from Prichoo Pulwama, a 74-year-old man from Chanapora Srinagar, an 85-year-old man from Aripanthan Beerwah Budgam, a 67-year-old man from Nawabazar Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Kanipora Nowgam Srinagar, a 78-year-old man from Malbagh Srinagar, a 40-year-old man from Dalgate Srinagar and an 80-year-old man from Chattabal.
