JUNEAU, Alaska A state-sponsored corporation has proposed seeking federal infrastructure funds to advance an initial phase of a mega-gas project to bring gas from the northern Point Thomson gas field to Fairbanks.
A resolution passed by the Alaska Gasline Development Corp. board Thursday states that the corporation has identified a “strategic party fit, willing and able to initiate and lead” that initial phase, including pipeline development, ownership and operation. The party wasn t identified.

Leaders of the state’s gasline corporation on Feb. 4 provided details on a new, phased development plan for the $38 billion Alaska LNG Project that could get large volumes of lower cost natural gas to Fairbanks by 2025.
Alaska Gasline Development Corp. President Frank Richards said during a board of directors meeting that AGDC management has been in discussions with several potential private participants in the megaproject.

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is requesting public comment on an analysis and proposed decision by DNR Commissioner Corri Feige on two right-of-way lease applications from the Alaska Gasline Development Corp. The leases would be conditional because AGDC does not yet have project funding..
