NYS, Holtec And Stakeholders Reach Agreement To Decommission Indian Point

6:02 The owner of the Indian Point nuclear power plant, the prospective owner and several stakeholders, including New York state, have reached an agreement regarding the decommissioning of the Westchester County-based plant. This comes as the plant permanently shuts down by the end of the month.  The joint proposal has been submitted to the New York state Public Service Commission for approval and is available for public comment. The provisional agreement was negotiated by New York state, current Indian Point owner Entergy, Holtec International, Westchester County, the local school district and local governments, Riverkeeper and the Public Utility Law Project. If approved by the PSC, the agreement would transfer ownership of the nuclear power facility to Holtec, which would be responsible for the decommissioning and remediation of the facility and site. Richard Webster is legal program director for Riverkeeper.

The Sad Story of the Centris – 512 Pixels

An on-board DSP (Digital Signal Processor) Chip GeoPort Communications Architecture Sound input and output ports It and the 610 both came in the “pizza box” form factor, while the more expandable Centris 650 lived in a recycled Macintosh IIvx case which was both taller and deeper. All three models came with System 7.1, and could run up to Mac OS 8.1 which shipped in early 1998. Now that we’ve looked at the what of the Centris line, let’s look at the why. By this time, the LC line was anchoring the low end of the Mac product line, and the Performa was still mostly just rebadged LCs and Classic IIs. On the high end of things, the Macintosh II line had faded away, and Apple was replacing it with the 68040-powered Quadras. These machines were much more capable than the 68030-powered Macintosh II, and as the tech moved on, Apple put the 030 in service across the LC line.

NYS PSC Hearings On Indian Point License Transfer Draw Numerous Comments

7:01 The New York state Public Service Commission held two virtual public hearings Tuesday on the proposed license transfer for the Indian Point nuclear power plant. The hearings are to help determine whether the PSC should exercise jurisdiction over the proposed transfer. The plant in Westchester County is slated to permanently shut down at the end of April. More than 50 speakers delivered comments during the afternoon hearing, which ran about four hours. The speakers ranged from elected officials to union members to environmentalists to residents outside New York who have seen Holtec operate in their communities. In November, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved the license transfer from Entergy Nuclear to Holtec International, as owner, and Holtec Decommissioning International, as decommissioning operator. Theresa Knickerbocker is mayor of the Village of Buchanan, home of Indian Point.
