Wetumpka residents say finally getting to see it all come to life after months of the camera crews and construction was worthwhile. “I think HGTV coming here is only going to help with tourism,” said Village Artist, Robert Mullins, “and the future growth and things that come down the road.” Just hours after the show aired, Wetumpka Mayor Jerry Willis said there we’re dozens of visitors from several different states taking a detour, while traveling, to see the city. “The amount of different license plates I’ve seen, just today, my goodness!” said Mayor Willis.

Bay Area Reporter :: Spirited disruption: Celebrating 150 years of the SF Art Institute

Beginning March 19 and running through July 3, the venerable San Francisco Art Institute will celebrate its 150th birthday with an extensive exhibition of a diverse array of alumni. There will be a particular focus on Black, indigenous people of color and LGBTQ+ artists at the exhibition, which takes place at the institute s historic Chestnut Street campus and online. Titled A Spirit of Disruption, the exhibit will include a large selection of artwork and archival materials which celebrate the ethos of the institution while highlighting the contributions of artists and individuals who have often been overlooked. There will also be a ten episode podcast which will supplement the exhibition.

Finneman will present “No Voice, No Vote: The Struggle to Get the Ballot and Why It Still Matters.” Those who don’t have access to Zoom technology are welcome to attend at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center in the auditorium. Masks are required along with social distancing.
