You ve all seen it, trash or other belongings left on the beach with no regard for other people or animals.
The Popcorn Park Zoo is hoping to drive home a message, and reminder, to everyone that what you leave behind as much as an accident it is, could very well harm an animal or make them sick.
This comes after a Seagull died in their care this week.
The bird was found injured and tangled in a fishing line along the beach in Surf City, the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo said in a statement Friday.

From our friends at the Popcorn Park Rescue Shelter / Zoo: Boy did little Kiera have a rough start in life. This sweet kitten was hit by a car and she s so lucky to be alive! She was found on the side of the road, bloody and trying to stand. We were unsure if she would make it at first, since she showed neurological signs from the head trauma, but will you just look at her now?! Kiera not only survived, but she is doing so great now! She s about 8 months old and Kiera was quite shy and confused at first, and who could blame her? With lots of love and attention, she s quickly learning to enjoy life and enjoy being safe and cared for. She ll need a home where she ll get the patience and understanding she deserves, and can take her time and settle in. She seems fine with other easy-going cats and Kiera would love a commotion-free home. If you d like to meet with Kiera please call

This is what Bailey s caretakers at the Popcorn Park Rescue Shelter / Zoo say about him:
Bailey is a sweet and fun-loving shar pei mix of about 2 1/2 years old that hopes to get scooped up real soon. Bailey isn t used to being away from home but sadly, he is with us because he just didn t get along with the other dog in his home. Bailey appears to be ok with some female dogs, but he ll need a home with no male dogs, cats, or young kids. He s a nervous guy that takes a little bit to trust new people but once he does, he is your very best friend. Bailey is an absolute love when he gets to know you. He s well-behaved, housebroken, listens well, he s curious and outgoing, and he s an expert fetcher. He warms up much quicker to women than to men, but in a patient and loving home, he ll be everyone s best buddy. He just needs a chance.
This is an update to an earlier story that we brought to you. Few weeks ago we told you about Ginger the husky that was found left in a cage in the Barnegat woods with no food or water. Luckily Ginger was found by a local resident and turned over to authorities.
