Dunkirk Dave predicted an early spring.
Without any fanfare, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dunkirk Dave did not see his shadow and predicted an early spring.
Dunkirk Dave is the second longest predicting groundhog in the world, and an iteration of Dunkirk Dave, joined by handler Bob Will, has been predicting a short winter or long spring for the last 53 years. The decision to postpone the public appearance was made to keep Will, Dave’s other handler Bill Verge, anyone who would have been in attendance at the event, and Dunkirk Dave safe from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Dunkirk Dave will not be able to come out and check his shadow at daybreak, because no masks are available for groundhogs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave’s handlers want to respect the regulations put in place because of the virus,” Will said. “Some people might get this message and arrive at Dave’s house, but Dunkirk Dave will not be available to observe anywhere.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of events and traditions to be put on hold in the last 10 month. One of the events joining that lengthy list is Dunkirk Dave’s yearly seasonal prediction.

During our 48 years together, 46 of them married, she learned far more about sports in general and the Cubs in particular than she ever cared to know. But she loved it just the same, because she loved me. She fell asleep in the ninth inning of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, but woke up in time to see Kris Bryant s throw to Anthony Rizzo.

Christmas album, not so much. That may start to change with Michael Falzarano and Extended Family’s
A Kaleidoscope Christmas, a collection of original and classic yuletide songs led by the singer and guitarist known for his stints in Hot Tuna and the New Riders of the Purple Sage.
Thanks to those connections, this is a Christmas album that features guitarist Kaukonen and Falzarano’s other Hot Tuna bandmate, co-founder and bassist Jack Casady, along with the likes of former Jefferson Starship keyboardist Pete Sears and guitarist Jeff Mattson (of Dark Star Orchestra and Phil Lesh & Friends renown). And that’s hardly the most unconventional aspect of it. You’ve probably never heard as many guitar solos on a holiday tune as on “Jingle Bells Jingle Jam,” and you can probab
