With just days to go before the All-Ireland football final, union leaders in Chicago have been signalling their support for Mayo s bid to stop Dublin from winning a sixth title on the trot.
The globally recognised catchphrase Mayo for Sam’ has been displayed on one of the city’s landmark buildings, by the Chicago Federation of Labor.
The Federation’s President, Bob Reiter, said the links between the Windy City and the windy west of Ireland had prompted officials to display the slogan on the Prudential building in recent days.
Using lights on different floors to spell out the message, ‘Mayo for Sam’ dominated the 41 storey building.
