Judge David Langham
There are many functions we all attend. Often we are obligated to make appearances. I am reminded of a humorous bit in television s Big Bang Theory. In it, an argument ensues between a logic-driven scientist and a realist. A third character buts in to the frustration and advises the realist to just tell him it is a non-optional social convention. The reaction is a why didn t you say that to begin with acceptance of the premise and end of the argument. There are some things you do because it is what we do.
But occasionally, if you are lucky, there come some occasions that you get to do things. In 2012, the Workers Compensation Institute concluded that it would be appropriate to recognize people who have literally spent a lifetime in workers compensation. It is an astoundingly varied group of folks from around the Florida community, largely from the practice of law. However, there are claims professionals, employer representatives, and more in the group. The
Case was first of 250 thousand.
A verdict has been reached in the first of many cases involving military members getting defective hearing protection. WUWF’s Bob Barrett reports.
BB-First 3M Verdict 2:27 SOC
Aylstock 1 “There (are) 250 thousand individual lawsuits filed at this point in the Northern District of Florida.”
That’s Bryan Aylstock (ALE-stock) from the Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis and Overholtz law firm in Pensacola. They are the firm that is taking the lead in all of these individual suits against 3M, the manufacturer of the Combat Arms version 2 ear plugs that were used by the military from 2002 to 2015. The plaintiffs in the cases are military members who have suffered hearing loss. The first of those cases has just ended with a verdict against 3M in federal court.
Holby City's Dominic Copeland sets his sights on a promotion to consultant - and he's going to make sure Sacha helps him get it, as David Ames reveals.
This is the longer version of Bob Barrett s conversation with Michael Cudlitz.
Bob Barrett: “As someone who has done a little bit of directing (Cudlitz has directed episodes of “The Walking Dead” and the spin-off show “Walking Dead: World Beyond”), were you (thinking) ‘OK, this might be a big change’ the next time you go into that?”
MC: Yeah. I’m actually going back to do an episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ this summer and I know that a lot of the protocols will still be in place. If someone does get sick it’s a major shut-down of production so they really are going to err on the side of extreme caution. So yeah, I was very aware of what we were doing, and taking notes as to what I would be doing in the next few months as a director.”
