Show Transcript 80 miles from Sacramento near Echo Summit is a popular spot to sled slide and play in the stone. But did you know buried under the snow? Is this state historical marker number 10 48 plaque Commemorating what was once called the most bizarre location for Olympic men s track and field trials ever. That s because this was what that exact same sledding location looked like back in September of 1968 an Olympic sized track carved out of the trees for the men s track and field trials one month before the Mexico City Games in October of that year.
