America in the context of global trust is more of a problem than a solution or reliable partner.  Even its own people do not trust America. America is now a top enemy of China. By its actions such as the mass murder on 3 January 2020 of officials in Baghdad which caused the Iraq government to order the Americans out of Iraq, or by self-declaration America is also an enemy of Syria, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Russia, Turkey, and Afghanistan. That’s a huge percentage of the world population, billions, now comprising an enemy of the USA.

Crestview mayor named NWF League of Cities president Brian Hughes | Special to the News Bulletin/USA TODAY NETWORK CRESTVIEW The Northwest Florida League of Cities has a new president and it’s Crestview Mayor JB Whitten. In a 1 p.m. May 3 ceremony, Whitten placed his hand on a family Bible held by his wife, Ann, as Okaloosa County Commissioner Mel Ponder administered the oath of office after offering the invocation. Ponder, former Destin mayor and Florida state representative, was among local municipal leaders and officials attending the brief ceremony in the Crestview City Council chamber at City Hall. Also attending was outgoing NWFLC president and DeFuniak Springs Mayor Bob Campbell.

Salida Museum to reopen starting May 7

Salida Museum, 406½ U.S. 50 (behind the Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce) is reopening to the public from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning May 7. The museum has been closed because of COVID-19 restrictions since March of 2020. While the museum has been closed, board members and volunteers have been busy arranging new displays so visitors will find some “new” old items and displays of interest. Masks and social distancing are still required and those who cannot visit Friday through Sunday can call for an appointment on any day except Monday.
