Pfizer vaccine could be first for T&T

RISHARD KHAN While nothing is yet set in stone, the Pfizer and BioNtech vaccine could be the one that is administered in T&T, according to the Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh. Speaking during a Ministry of Health virtual press conference on Wednesday, Deyalsingh noted that the ministry has requested technical information for a handful of other vaccine candidates from the Pan American Health Organisation/World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO). “Once the Pfizer vaccine passes all the regulatory approvals via CARPHA, the technical advisory group for the Caribbean, and the local advisory group, the Pfizer vaccine could possibly be the first one to be used in Trinidad and Tobago,” he said.
