KARACHI: PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, blaming him for not caring about the common man s problems in Pakistan.
In a statement, Bilawal held the prime minister responsible for the dismal economic situation of the country, adding that every Pakistani is paying the price of Imran Khan s Change Tsunami .
Speaking about PM Imran Khan s recent trip to Saudi Arabia, Bilawal said it was unfortunate how the same prime minister, who used to talk about not obtaining loans from other countries, was carrying the begging bowl with him everywhere in the world.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Friday restrained the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation from carrying out demolition work to the properties at Gujjar and Orangi town drains area of which registered lease deeds for 99 years have been issued by the former city district government Karachi, the predecessor of KMC.
Hearing a petition against the demolition of leased houses in the garb of anti-encroachment drive on drains, the SHC’s division bench, headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, however, observed that this interim order shall cease to have effect if any specific order for the demolition of 99 years leased properties, subject matter of the petition, has been passed by the Supreme Court.

Some of the more effusive opponents of the current regime are prone to exaggeration. A most amusing bit of hyperventilation is when some claim with great confidence that the current era is worse than the Gen Ziaul Haq dictatorship.
This is pure nonsense, but not because the protagonists of the current scenario are necessarily trying for things to be any better than the darkness of the 1980s. The comparison with the 1980s is nonsense because turning down the volume of the national discourse in Gen Zia’s era was just so much easier than it is today. In an era of a seemingly unlimited number of newspapers, television channels, social media feeds and angry, underserved citizens, the feeble attempts to ‘manage’ the national discourse only expose the limited imaginations of the protagonists of this unique time in Pakistan’s political history.

KARACHI: A human chain was formed alongside the Gujjar Nala, from Liaquatabad Daak Khana to the Khamosh Colony graveyard under the banner of the Awami Workers Party, Women Democratic Front and Progressive Students Federation on Saturday.
The demonstration was organised by the victims of illegal evictions in the Gujjar Nala and Orangi Nala areas, as well as the K-Electric Labour Union, SSGC Insaf Jafakash Union, and Progressive Trade Union Federation.
A large number of Karachi citizens, including women and children, participated in the protest and chanted slogans against the federal and provincial governments.
