Drunken revelry leads to friend s murder, 4 held | Vadodara News

Representative image VADODARA: A drunken scuffle between two groups of friends and the latent desire to become a don or ‘bhai’, led to the murder of a youngster in Padra taluka on Thursday evening. Cops have booked four persons for killing Hitesh Parmar, a resident of Navapura on the night of December 31. According to the police, the group of friends, including the accused and the deceased, gathered at a field in Ghayaj village at Padra to celebrate New Year’s Eve, along with liquor. Cops said that one of them, identified as Abhijeet, started showing a video clip of a news channel to everyone present at the spot boasting that he had attacked three persons with a knife and the clip would appear soon.

After molesting four girls, six boys thrash their kin | Vadodara News

Representative image VADODARA: Six persons including four minor boys aged 16-17 years and two youths were detained on Tuesday for allegedly molesting four teenage girls and beating up their family members when confronted in Padra on Monday. According to police, the four minor boys had been allegedly harassing the girls aged between 15 and 17 years, for the last couple of days. But on Monday their behaviour worsened as they followed the girls, whistled at them and passed lewd comments. The teenage girls, who live in the same neighbourhood, were walking back to their homes after giving vegetables to a family friend living nearby when the four minor boys along with their friend Satish Parmar (29) followed them in Parmar’s van. Parmar drives the van for a private company on Padra road.

Hema Patel concocted a tale about three masked Hindi-speaking men who barged into her house on December 14 evening and holding her at knife point, robbed Rs 5,000 in cash besides gold and silver jewellery. “Her claims didn’t sound true as nobody in her neighbourhood saw any person entering or leaving the house at the time of the robbery. We questioned her tactfully and after a point, she could not lie and admitted,” said a police official.
