MP SPEAKS | As we battle the global pandemic crisis, with Malaysians and the rest of the world honour women this International Women’s Day observance on March 8, one cannot deny that the faces of women – strong, smart, resilient, passionate and driven by universal values of democracy, equality and justice – are fast becoming the frontline faces fighting for good governance and social justice for all.
Without a doubt, the faces of women are the ones leading the nation and the world to be healed, mended, restored, rebuilt and to be set right.
EcoWorld Development Group Bhd will be unveiling new Co-Home units at its Eco Grandeur township in Bandar Puncak Alam, Selangor, and Eco Horizon township in Bandar Cassia, Penang, in the next two months. Both townships are joint-venture projects with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
At Eco Grandeur, the developer is planning to launch the first 264 of the total 484 Co-Home units located within the 81-acre Regent Garden residential collection of the township in early April. The leasehold project has a gross development value (GDV) of RM228 million and will offer 12 three-bedroom, two-bathroom layouts, with built-ups ranging from 1,001 to 1,109 sq ft. Prices start from RM395,000 and the monthly maintenance fee is estimated at 15 sen psf.

GEORGE TOWN: An employee of Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB) has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu adzam Shah concessionaire said the employee tested positive on Thursday (Feb 25) and is currently receiving medical attention at a government hospital.
JKSB said that the employee is not in a customer-facing role and was last seen on duty in the office on Feb 24. We have immediately informed and advised the employee s direct family members and persons we believe to have come in close contact with the said employee in the past 14 days to undergo tests for Covid-19. They have been advised to observe home quarantine pending the outcome of the said test, the statement said.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: All dams and recreational areas under the jurisdiction of the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) will be opened to the public from Friday (Feb 26).
Mengkuang Dam here on the mainland, as well as Ayer Itam Dam, Teluk Bahang Dam and the Bukit Dumbar Recreational Park on the island will open for recreational activities from 7am to 7pm. The matter was brought up in an exco meeting on Wednesday (Feb 25) following requests from the public on the opening of the dams. Approval has been given to reopen them, Penang youth and sports committee chairman Soon Lip Chee told reporters after visiting the Mengkuang Dam on Thursday (Feb 25) to check on standard operating procedures.
