A memorandum of understanding pertaining to the Gwadar Shipyard construction project was signed between the Balochistan and federal governments at the chief minister’s secretariat.
QUETTA, Feb. 3 (Gwadar Pro) - The capacity of Gwadar Shipyard under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be much greater than Karachi Shipyard and would be significant for the improvement of Balochistan’s economy, Federal Minister for Defense Production Zubaida Jalal said Tuesday afternoon.
She said Gwadar Shipyard would be owned by the provincial government of Balochistan which was being acquired by the federal government under equity.
She expressed these views while addressing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Balochistan and Federal Governments regarding Gwadar Shipyard at the Chief Minister Secretariat.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal Khan, Provincial Ministers including Mir Muhammad Saleem Khosa, Mir Arif Jan Muhammad Hasani, Parliamentary Secretary for Information Bushra Rind and concerned provincial and federal officials were present on the occasion.

A ceremony in this regard was held in Quetta and was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, the Federal Minister for Defense Production Zubaida Jalal, and federal and provincial officials.

Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal is visiting Iraq on a 4-day official visit from today.
According to Spokesperson of the Ministry, she is visiting Baghdad on the invitation of the Iraqi Defence Minister.
During her stay in Baghdad, she will hold meetings with Iraqi officials.
During these meetings bilateral relations between the two countries and regional issues will be discussed.
