Food giveaway returns to southern Illinois Unmute Unmute Unmute (WSIL) A food giveaway is returning to southern Illinois to help those still struggling through the pandemic. The Laborers Local 773, Cusumano and Sons, and countless volunteers gave boxes of fresh dairy and produce to locals across the region. It was thanks to a USDA grant that lasted from June to October 2020. Matt Smith, President of Laborers Local 773, says during that time they were able to help locals from all walks of life. Something at 773 is who can I help today, he says about the group and its members. It s a way to make sure we re helping somebody. Not just somebody but a lot of people.
