POTSDAM SLC Arts’ Bits & Pieces exhibit opens via Zoom on Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m. All of SLC Arts’ exhibits this year highlight the artists’ interpretation of the theme, and Bits & Pieces is no exception.
Artists could submit mosaics, collage, found artwork, and more for this event. To join the virtual unveiling, register in advance.
The Bits & Pieces exhibit will be available both online on their website at www.slcartscouncil.org, and for in-person viewing at the Potsdam Town Hall.
To maintain social distancing recommendations, the event opening will remain virtual, with the opportunity to view pieces within the Town Hall.
POTSDAM â State police charged a Potsdam woman last week following an investigation of child endangerment.
Police say Kendra N. Wright, 29, Potsdam, was in possession of a tetrahydrocannabinol-infused candy bar containing a total of 500 milligrams of THC. Her 3-year-old child ingested a portion of the candy bar, according to state police. The incident occurred Feb. 19, according to police.
The child was treated and released from Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Ms. Wright was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
She was released with an appearance ticket returnable to Potsdam Town Court.

Each year, the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce selects an outstanding business to receive the “Business of the Year” award.
For 2020, the Chamber chose to present unconventional awards in response to the whirlwind year that we all experienced.
Each award recipient was selected from a long list of nominations submitted through social media and email.
“Our member businesses have worked harder than ever through unprecedented times,” said Rob Bicknell, chamber vice president. “We are happy to recognize these businesses for going above and beyond throughout the Pandemic.”
The 12 categories are filled with 11 Potsdam businesses that were recognized for their perseverance and hard work by their community.
