Line Of Duty newcomer Kelly Macdonald has revealed that Keeley Hawes had to convince her to join the gripping Jed Mercurio police drama.
The Scottish actress, 45, is set to play DCI Joanne Davidson in series six and had to be talked into the role by Keeley, 45, who previously played Lindsay Denton in series two and three, as her first instinct was to run a mile .
Talking in a new interview with Radio Times, Kelly also admitted that she hadn t watched Line Of Duty beforehand but had seen bits on Gogglebox.

Line Of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has revealed the hotly-anticipated sixth series of the police drama isn t finished yet - five days before the show begins on BBC One.
Speaking to Nihal Arthanayke on BBC Radio 5 Live, Jed, 55, said he and the team had delivered the first few episodes of the drama with the rest still in post-production - and had even shot extra scenes for the ending in recent weeks.
The first episode of the drama s new series- depicting Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar as AC-12 officers rooting out bent coppers - will begin airing on Sunday, March 21.
