Yesterday, agents apprehended large groups near Van Horn, Texas and seized over 200 pounds of marijuana. Agents from the Van Horn Border Patrol Station were successful in making apprehensions across their area of responsibility which added to the increasing number of apprehensions across Big Bend Sector. Disrupting human smuggling events, both large and small, was accomplished by Border Patrol agents due to their knowledge of the land, use of technology and their partnerships with local and state law-enforcement agencies.

Hong Kong universities’ international reputations appear to have taken something of a hit – at least in certain disciplines – with many local institutions experiencing declines in a global league table ranking the quality of the education they offer in various subjects. Eight of the nine local institutions included in the table by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) saw some of their academic programmes perform worse this year than last, with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) experiencing the most subjects declining. Of the 171 programmes ranked in Hong Kong, 66 of them – or nearly 40 per cent – declined, while 64 remained more or less the same as last year. Border Patrol Stops Tractor-Trailer Human Smuggler Release Date: March 1, 2021 SALTON CITY, Calif. –El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 86 immigration checkpoint arrested a man suspected of smuggling eight illegal aliens Friday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m., when a man driving a semi tractor-trailer hauling a reefer approached the checkpoint. Agents conducted an immigration check on the driver in the primary inspection area. Agents noticed that the driver was visibly nervous and referred him to secondary for further inspection.
