China suspends pork imports from Brazil slaughterhouse
China has suspended importations from the main slaughterhouse of cooperative Aurora in Chapecó, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. Although no further reasons were communicated, it is likely the ban is related to fears over Covid-19.
The information about the suspension was shared last week by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), after Chinese communication just before New Year. The ministry said that China had “requested information on Covid-19 cases at the facility” and justified the suspension by “concerns” regarding this unit without giving further details. Inetnon Gefpå’go marks 20 years, works to survive pandemic

Inetnon Gefpå’go has spent 20 years promoting Guam s arts and culture and is making sure the program continues to educate, perpetuate and promote it through the performing arts.
As part of its 20th anniversary commemoration, the award-winning group and Independent Guåhan had a special virtual reunion and YouTube premiere of the 2010 theatrical production, Guåhan: Fanhasso, Fanhita, Fanacho.
Inetnon Gefpå’go also began production of its new eight part “Minagof Minute” series in partnership with Humanities Guåhan. The first episode is streaming on instagram’s IGTV platform,m according to a news release.

A team of researchers led by MIPT s Allan Kalueff has studied chronic stress in zebrafish and determined that the animal can serve as a valuable model species for research into the associated brain diseases, complementing research currently done on rodents. The paper was published in
Scientific Reports.
Translational model
The zebrafish, also known as Danio rerio, is a freshwater fish from the minnow family. It got its name for the stripes on its body. Zebrafish are widely used as a translational model in genetics, molecular biology, embryology, pharmacology, and more recently in neurobiology. Their use as lab animals was pioneered in the 60s by U.S. biologist George Streisinger.
