THIS EVENING & TONIGHTâ¦
Clouds will dissipate overnight. Weâll see some lingering cloud cover by the shoreline, otherwise, youâll be able to see the stars. The humidity will make the overnight hours relatively warm. The sun will be out as we start Sunday.
THE WEEKENDâ¦
Thanks to the long end-of-May days, weâll have lots of time to boost temperatures into the 80s or possibly 90s! It will feel noticeably warmer until the evening front arrives.
A backdoor cold front will move southward across New England on Sunday, and it will reach Connecticut by late afternoon. The front will stir up a few thunderstorms during the afternoon, but theyâll be hit-or-miss, and not every town will get one. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Northern and Western Connecticut in a âmarginalâ risk area for damaging winds. However, any strong storms that do develop will be isolated. Before the front arrives, temperatures will soar to near 90

YESTERDAY S RECAPâ¦
The warming trend peaked yesterday with temperatures reaching the middle 80s in many locations! The high temperature at Bradley International Airport was 86 degrees, which makes yesterday the warmest day since September 8th of last year (also 86 degrees). Even shoreline communities were in the 80s before a sea breeze kicked in during the afternoon.
TODAY & TOMORROWâ¦
Today wonât be as warm as yesterday. High pressure over Eastern New England will bring a cooler, maritime air to the state. The air will be dry as well. Highs will range from the 60s and lower 70s at the beaches to the lower 80s over interior portions of the state. Overall, a great day for outdoor activities! The sky will be partly sunny.
