Independent businesses in a city suburb where coronavirus cases have suddenly risen by 60% say the pandemic has been very difficult .
In the seven days to February 3 (the most recent available data), New Basford recorded 48 new cases of Covid-19.
This was a 60% increase on the previous week, causing its infection rate to increase to 492.8 cases per 100,000 people.
Its infection rate is now much higher than the England average, which sits at 211.8, as well as the Nottingham average, which currently stands at 323.5.
